It is sometimes hard to go back to the basics with all the bells and whistles out there. It is getting even harder to really pull it off too. Jennifer definitely got this one right. Sweet and simple without layers, ribbons, buttons and the rest. A cute cupcake stamp and sentiment plus a little color and some white details go along way on kraft cardstock.
This is a layout that Ronda did awhile back. I wasn't able to share it here because it was in the pipeline to be published. No surpise there! Take a look at how she used the Plain Jane Labels. What a great idea to just stamp them on all different patterned papers. The color combo on this is fab. I am really digging this cool gray cardstock with the colors and patterns of the papers she used.
Susan sent me this wonderful tag not too long ago. Take a look at how she used the scrolled parchment stamp from the Antique Fair Set as a frame for the Calendar stamp. How cool is that! That flower on the tag is something new she is whipping up herself. Nice job, wouldn't you say? I also thought the choice of ribbon was perfect. It definitely has a vintage look.
Here is another favorite. This time a layout from Julie. I am always a fan of the little letter stickers Julie uses on everything. The butterfly she adorns with the pearls is surely becoming another signature style of hers. What I particularly loved on this layout was the random glitter letters she used in the background. Keeping it all monochromatic adds such a nice touch. They are now on my wish list. :)
Laura does some wonderful cards! Her photography is just as great. Take a look at this one...
Once again yummy colors! The way she colored the Citrus with a simple wash works so well. You can do this several different ways. Laura used some Distress Inks. You can water down the re-inkers or press the pad onto a plastic sheet and paint on the ink with a waterbrush. You can get the same effect using brush markers.
Hey! Sorry to have skipped out on blogging last month. I guess the Summer kind of consumed me us here. Good news is that school started here this week and I hope to get back to blogging, working, and creating. That is a long list for me but I will see what I can do. :)
I figure I will start by sharing some of my favorite DT projects that have been rolling in over the past couple of months. So here you go...
Absolutely loved this layout from Sharon. The colors are just soft and yummy. I was blown away on how she used and colored the Skinny Dip alphabet. It just oozed fun and it all popped on the page (literally too!). I thought the little hearts inside the Vintage Postmarks was so sweet. You can click on the photos to get a larger view. This is the largest I can post the photos and it doesn't do the layout justice.
