We had another storm yesterday. The Nor'easter dumped almost 7 inches of snow in my area. This is really early for us to get snow especially that it was more than a dusting. There are still thousands starting just down the block from me that are still without power. That also means no heat for the majority. Many of these people are the ones that experienced major flooding to their homes. There was more power outages from the storm yesterday too. My county still has over 100,000 people without power. The gas situation has not eased up either. The storm yesterday has impacted the gas deliveries.
My husband's marina took in 3-4 feet of water during the hurricane. Even though they prepared for water to come into the buildings (which would be a first) they still lost a ton of inventory and their entire computer system. They have been there every day emptying everything out, disposing of what was damaged and then cleaning everything. The boats that they had all pulled out from the water in the days before the storm were scattered all over the marina, across the bay in a country park and golf course. The photos you have seen are not the exception but the norm. I know that there has been very little news coverage of my area but it is/was just as bad as the areas they have shown. Two of my husband's employees completely lost their homes and another had significant damage. It is just so sad.
The kids have been out of school since before the storm. They were due to go back today but they closed school last night because of all the snow. All the towns south of here are unable to send the kids back to school. One town is hoping in about another week. I am not sure the plans for the other districts. We still have one school in our district without power. I am sure they will just relocate those kids into one of our elementary schools.
So many of you have been posting and emailing me since this all started. I just wanted to give you another update in case it seems like things are back to normal. I know the news will be covering less and less of what is going on.
Now let's brighten things up with some pretty eye candy. The design team has been loving Stacey's new collection. It appears that you do as well!
The sentiment on this card seemed appropriate for today's post title...

I am so sorry that yet another storm is adding to the misery in your area! I am amazed that you have been able to send out orders and keep us informed. I can't imagine what it feels like to be faced with the enormous clean up job your husband and employees are dealing with. I pray for your family, that soon school will open, the snow will melt and power will be restored to those who have none.

Wow, so sorry to hear you guys got that much snow...here in South Jersey we got a dusting, luckily the kids went back to school this week. I will keep you all in my prayers and hope that things can return to some sense of normalcy soon...it's hard to do much of anything when your basic needs aren't being met!
The cards today are over the top FABULOUS! I love Stacey's new stamp line, and the designers have brought them to life!

Michele I dont even know what to say - I'm so sorry this is not ending for you and the family and friends. I was happy to hear my nephew got power back this week - he's in NJ not even close to the shore - but you guys got really slammed. and continue to get slammed. I'll be saying a few prayers that the weather will stay stable for one thing. And that T gets back to school and maybe just some normalcy returns as the rebuilding continues. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers sweetie.
