I had a little bit of time to play around with some of the new stamps that arrived this week.  Here are two quick cards using designs by Stephanie Tafoya.  These are some designs she had done for me last year.  The words are all taken from the Skinny Dip alphabet. 

The first card uses the Doodle Snowflake along with the "Joy" sentiment from the Holidoodle set.  It is hard to capture but the images were painted using Twinkling H20's.  There is a nice festive shimmer to the snowflakes and sentiment. 

The second card also uses the "Joy" sentiment along with the little snowflake in the set.  I used that on the paper ribbon that runs across the card.  One of my favorite things is to stamp my own background papers.  I did it below with the "to the world" sentiment that is in the Holidoodle set.  I also pulled out the chalks to highlight the sentiment a bit.  I always loved how this looked in Stephanie's work.  The patterned paper is from Chatterbox.

Purple Friday!

I thought Purple Friday was a little more fitting than Black Friday.  ;)  I have been busy all day with sale orders so this will be another quick post. 

I have some winners to announce from the other day's Thanksgiving post.  Andi & Tracy come on down!  I also decided to pick a 3rd person based on a tradition that I thought was such a great idea.  Colleen posted about her tradition of sending autumn leaves to her family in Florida.  I thought that was just the best.  I am going to have to remember that for next year!

I'll email each of you.  Thanks again for sharing your traditions and favorites.  They were fun to read.

Uncle

I am crying uncle!  Did you know that after 10 hours of standing on your feet they don't hurt anymore?  However, after 13 hours it starts up again.  I have been in this kitchen since around 10 a.m. this morning.  It is now almost 2:30 a.m. and I give.  There isn't much to do tomorrow (or should I say later on today) so I am in good shape. 

Thanks for sharing all your Thanksgiving favorites!  They were fun to read.  I will pick the names on Friday after I re-coup a bit.

I am going to go crash now.  :)

Hi, hello, how are you?

 

I thought these new stamps were appropriate for todays post.  This is a real cute basic set.  The three sentiments on the bottom row all fit inside the scallop circle. 

The blog posting has been light since I have been prepping & shopping for Thanksgiving.  We are having dinner for 23 which is a larger than normal crowd for us.  We ususally are about half that.  Needless to say I have been running around buying stuff to accomodate all of us.  I will start some cooking today and then be at it all day tomorrow.  The menu is pretty much set.  I am still thinking about doing either a punch or mulled cider OR maybe just pomegranate martinis.  I probably also need to do a appetizer for the kids.  We made these last year.  They were cute but I need to make the cheese a little more exciting.  We made them at the last minute and I just used cheese straight from the container.

   

So, for all of you that have continued to pop over here...how about we do some giveaways!  A little stamp goodness tied into Thanksgiving. 

Post two of your favorite things about Thanksgiving.  The first can be a family tradition or something about the day in general.  The second thing is your favorite Thanksgiving Day food.  I want to hear what you all look forward to since I will be in the kitchen for the next 2+ days.

I will pick two names from those that post and send each of you a few new stamps.

**Silly me...I forgot about those of you who live in other countries that do not celebrate Thanksgiving.  Let's pretend you were coming to join in a Thanksgiving day celebration.  What would you want to experience?

I am guessing that there is a tree half way down the road?  I get such a kick out of how places are named.  England is great for them.

This is a box of yumminess that Sean brought home from work.

He has a customer from Jamaica who sometimes brings us back a box of beef patties when he visits home.  Each time we get a box we start to wonder how he gets them here.  Then we decide we really don't want to know.  Lol.

I didn't have a chance to post this last night.  It was late and too dark to try and take a photo.  This is a page I started a few weeks ago for a mini book.  It isn't finished but I thought I would show it since it uses the "Postgram" stamp that I posted yesterday.

 

I love the shapes on the new Basic Grey albums.  This is the bracket one.  The keyplate is another favorite.  However, I am not diggin' the white paint pen I tried using for the first time.  I guess I should of tried it out before putting it right to the photograph.

I should have the new stamps up on the site by the beginning of the week.  I might even be able to wrap it up this weekend.  I am about to go into Turkey mode since we are having a large crowd for Thanksgiving dinner.  Some of the new stamps are already here.  The others should be here the week of November 26th.  Here is one of the new holiday doodle sentiments:

Day Two

Here is today's sneak peek (it technically will be tomorrow by the time I post this):

This was designed from a vintage postcard I picked up awhile back.  The original had a photograph of a street scene in England.  I thought it would be fun to use in a mini book.  You can use it on one page or the entire book.  It is a great way to document a vacation or event.  It can also be used to journal on a layout or as a background on a card.

Yes, its me!!

I am finally taking the plunge.  I have gone back & forth on starting a blog for a few years.  I was just trying to be realistic about the whole thing.  I knew what I wanted to include in a blog but I didn't feel I had the time to devote to it.  I still don't think I have found that time but I am going to try.  Maybe this will force me to make some creative time for myself.  I can only hope.  So, I guess we will just give it a try and see what happens. Ok?

I am going to keep this one short as I get a feel for things.  Since you were nice enough to stop by I will let you know that there are new stamps!  I haven't had a chance to get them on the website yet.  They will be up sometime next week.  I'll drop some teasers here until then. :)
