Happy New Year everyone! I planned on posting sooner but I was trying to get through some work and have some quality blogging time. I finally just gave up because it hasn't gotten any quieter around here. I am not complaining by any means. I thought it would be slow after the holidays and it would give me some creative time. No such luck. :(
However, I had to play with some new goodies last night. I bought myself a birthday present and it arrived in yesterday's mail. I technically should have waited a few days to play with them but I couldn't resist. I am entitled, right? Take a look and tell me what you think.
I used one of the hearts from the Doodle Heart Set and the new "Love" stamp. They are stamped in black Archival Ink and then colored with my birthday present. Copic Markers! After much contemplating I finally decided on which Copic markers I really wanted to invest in. Linda over at Amuse is selling the original Copic markers and I decided these were the ones that would best suit my needs. I also loved her color selection. They are lighter shades that will not cover up the lines of stamped image. There are soooo many colors to choose from that it helped having someone else make the first decision for you.
I really enjoyed playing with the markers last night and can feel another purchase happening. I bought a good majority of the colors that Linda carries. Now that I know I want the Copics over the Sketch I can go back and buy some more. :) I'll babble a bit more about the markers and my decision in the upcoming days. It will give me something to blog about.
Here is one other card I did. The Doodle Flower and "Happy Birthday" were embossed on this one. The Copic markers are alcohol markers but it didn't break down the embossing on the flower. I figured I would try it and see if it would work. There were some other images (using different embossing powders) that it didn't work on.
