Purple Onion Designs

 

There are some more new stamps on the website!  Better late then never.  I had a few others that I decided not to do this time around.  It was just getting too late and I needed to get something done.  I have been trying all week to work on all the new images that will be coming.  I am juggling back and forth and its been hard to actually finish any one of them.  I am excited for a lot of what is coming though!  :)

These are some of my favorites:

 

I am thinking:

• A sentiment across a card
• A top or bottom border
• Stamped on ribbon or twill
• A band to use with the caution labels!
• Repeatedly stamped as a background

The Homegrown Hospitality alphabet is just perfect for some fun and cheery holiday projects.  If you are familar with Home & Heart magazine you will agree.  You can also stop by Stephanie's blog to see how great she always makes her letters look.  The letters are bigger then the Skinny Dip alphabet she created.  They are just screamin' for some Copic markers.

Creative Team Finalists

This was tough.  It was really hard to narrow down the finalists with all the great work that was submitted.  I also wanted to choose a diverse group of designers from around the world.  I think you will see from the length of the list below how difficult it was.

The finalists will all be sent stamps to work with for their final submissions.  The new additions to the creative team will be announced shortly after all the final projects are received.  Be on the lookout for an announcement around the second week of October.  In the meantime I hope you will keep visiting to see all the great projects and new stamps that are coming soon.

DT update and Noteblocks

I figure a lot of you are popping over here to see if there is any news or updates about the creative team call.  I received over 150 submissions so it has been a long process to go through them all.  I had asked for links to galleries & blogs in addition to 4-6 projects.  I wanted these to be included so I could have more to base my decisions on.  It is really helping.  It isn't always a real indication of someone's overall work or style when just looking at a handful of pieces.  The blogs and galleries are serving as a portfolio of your work.  I am finding so many more wonderful projects as I look through them.  I hope to post the complete list of those moving onto the final round tomorrow.  It got to be a larger group than I originally anticipated. 

Steph's Noteblock stamps have really gone over well!  I had to re-order them already so that is a good thing.  There are a few more projects that I thought you might like to see using them.  Take a look at this cute banner that Ronda has done with the Halloween Noteblock.  It would be a great decoration for a Halloween party too.

Then Jenn did this layout also using the Halloween Noteblock.  I am very big with repeatedly stamping an image to create a background or "patterned paper".  I like how she just used the stamp 4 times on this.  The twine lasso for the "o" in "cowgirl" is also a cute touch.

Three Things

I hadn't been posting because I wanted the details of the Creative Team search to remain at the top of the page.  There is just too much going on now and I have to share.  I will keep it short & sweet though.

I am really excited to announce two new members to the Design Team! 

• Ronda Palazarri
• Stephanie Wheeler

The addition of Ronda & Stephanie had been in the works before the Creative Team call went out.  I didn't want to make them wait any longer.  It was time for them to have the spotlight.  I wasn't feeling too bad for Ronda though. ;)  She was having  quite a month already.  Ronda recently became one of the 2009 Memory Makers Masters.  Then this week she became a member of the Fancy Pants design team.  Stephanie also has some exciting things going on but I will get back to that later.  :)

The next big news is the status of the Creative Team call.  I have a list of early finalists:

I had mentioned above that Stephanie also had some exciting things going on.  Stephanie is the designer behind a very successful Etsy shop called The Living Room Floor.  Stephanie is now also the designer behind these fabulous Purple Onion Designs stamps.

We've been having fun playing with these Noteblock stamps!  You can find them along with some stunning samples on the "New Stamps" page of the website.

I had mentioned in the newsletter that there would be a release this month and next.  I hoped to have more stamps done for this month but it just isn't happening.  There is too much going on and it now makes sense to release the rest of the stamps next month.  I wanted to get Stephanie's designs out now because of the cute Halloween Noteblock.  I thought some of you might be inspired to make some quick and easy treat bags like this one for Halloween.
