Happy Halloween!

 

Am I a good class parent or what?  These are the cupcakes I made yesterday for Tatum's Halloween Party at school today.  I had seen the Milano cookie idea at least 15 years ago and I never expected it would take me this long to finally make these!  I did happen to see a version online yesterday using a "Cameo" cookie.  I was not familiar with the Cameo and I have to say it is a much prettier cookie for tombstones.  Next time.  :)

I finally was able to snap a few shots of the house last night.  The wind and rain the past few days has caused us to have to keep setting up again.  I also have to get out there before all the cars start pulling up.  Seriously.  It is so funny to watch all the people pull up, come back with friends and family or pull out their cell phones to take pictures.  We are pretty nervous about tonight.  Each year there is a bigger and bigger turn out as more people see the house and word spreads.  The fact that today is a Friday is also a HUGE factor.  I am going to go and get more candy just to be safe.  I can't tell you how many cars are stopping this morning as I am typing this.  Eeeek!

Its a busy day here because all of the new stamps for October are on the website too!  You can see them here.   I am excited because we have stamps from two new designers.  You can click on the logos to see their stamps on the website. 

  

     

There are two new Noteblocks from The Living Room Floor.  I have added a "Love" themed one and "Hello" in different languages. 

Speaking of languages...I have added two stamp sets in French!  The ever so popular Vintage Postmark Set and Liz's Date Me set above.

There are also a few new stamps from Stephanie Tafoya-Ackerman.

I hope to have photos of the house for you by the weekend.  We have been dealing with quite a bit of rainy & windy weather here.  We had everything set up by Monday and then got hit with rain yesterday and today.  I think everything is set back up again now.  I am aiming to take photos tomorrow night.

 

 

More Noteblocks!

How about some more Noteblock projects!

Here are two thank you cards that were created for me by two of the new DT girls.  The first is from Julie Dudley and the second is from Christine Penaflor.

    

Waleska created a little recipe notebook and recipe cork board. 

 

 

Michele Beck created this wonderful layout as one of her final submission projects.

 

Mandy Starner submitted this cute card.  It definitely makes me think of a teacher thank you card.

 

I really liked this card that Maria Gurnsey submitted.  The way she tied the ribbon worked great with the stamp.

 

Sonja Mclean did this fun Christmas cookie layout.

 

I am thinking of some Halloween projects for the next post.  We just spent all day yesterday decorating the outside of the house.  The weather is lousy today.  Real windy and some intermittent rain.  I think we will get more rain later.  Sean is out there trying to set up the lights.  I'll probably take some photos tomorrow night when we play around with the lighting.  The cars have been stopping all day long.  I can't tell you how many people commented that they have been waiting for us to set up.  Oh, and I will post some photos.  We have a few new additions this year.

DT Rocks the Blocks

Its time to start showing off the final round submissions from the new design team.  I sent quite a few Noteblocks out to see what the girls could do.  You will see that they did not disappoint!

This was one of my favorite projects.  Waleska Neris made this very cool gift card holder with the Celebrate the Season Noteblock.

The next two are from Christine Penaflor.  I loved how she picked up the colors of the patterned paper for the ink on the Birthday Noteblock. 

Christine embossed the Happy Holidays Noteblock with a shimmer embossing powder.  It really adds a nice festive touch.

 

Courtney Kelley stamped the Halloween Noteblock on a transparency and then layered it over striped patterened paper.  The transparency really gives it a great look. 

Julie Dudley's card has a wonderful color combination.  I love the pop of color from the flower.

Jennifer Holmes did two different takes using the Birthday Noteblock.  The first card is a fun shaker card filled with confetti.

Her second card uses sections of the Noteblock.  I have been seeing everyone doing more and more cards like this (or even cutting out words from the stamped Noteblocks).

There is still more to come.  I will share some layouts created with the Noteblocks tomorrow.

Eyelashes & Dandelions

Tatum told me this afternoon that she now needs something new to wish for when blowing on eyelashes & dandelions.  It was so sweet to hear that this is what she was wishing for each time.  I am pretty sure she had the same wish every time she tossed a coin into a fountain or blew out a birthday candle.

Kali was this year's birthday present.  We got her unexpectedly while visiting my parents in FL last week.  She is also the reason that I haven't been able to get much done around here.  Kind of like right now.  I am typing with one hand while holding her in the other.  <sigh>  If its a little slow hearing back from me now you know why.

She is a bit too excited when trying to take photos right now.  Here are couple that I was able to quickly get.

Well I think its time to try and get some sleep around here.  Lets hope she sleeps through the night!
