Jillian is terrific at working her ink pads. She creates some of the most mood inspiring backgrounds with ink. Here are a few that have a dusky/smoky feel to them.

The Leaf Set really pops on this card that Joy created. There is not a better way to get a good solid white image than using white embossing powder. The white ink pads on the market just don't cut it. Everyone seems to have their favorite. Mine is Colorbox's White Frost. I think the key to getting a decent white stamped image is to have a very wet pad.
A stunning layout from Sharon. The Zothique alphabet she used looks incredible on this layout. I like how she stamped the words, cut them out and then added them to the layout. The dimension adds to the overall look of the layout.

Guess who?! I know it has been awhile. August was busy with a few vacations. Hubby decided it was time that we check out what this was all about:
So, we headed down to Florida to visit my family for a few days, left the puppy and then drove down to Miami to take our first ever cruise! I am surprised it has taken us this long to finally investigate first hand this type of vacation. We sailed on Norwegian's brand new ship called the Epic. It is now their largest ship. It had only been sailing for a couple of weeks. I liked that it was brand new but had a couple of weeks to work out any kinks they might of had. We had a wonderful time and visited several ports in the eastern Carribbean. We will now be spoiled to have started off cruising on such a ship. In addition to the newness, size and ammenities, it was what they call "freestyle" cruising. You were able to pick and choose where and when you ate. There were no formal nights or being seated at tables with other passengers. You could go casual or dressy. It was a great introduction to cruising.
I hope to keep on top of blogging now that school is back in full swing. This Summer flew by and there is so much to catch up on. I'll be back tomorrow with a few cards to share.
