The summer has been quickly sneaking by and it is time to have our annual anniversary sale! It's a big one too...10 years!! I can't believe it.
I started Purple Onion Designs with one plate of stamps shortly after becoming a stay at home mom. I immediately became addicted after stumbling upon rubber stamping and cardmaking. I oddly started off with unmounted stamps and wanted designs I couldn't find online. At the time, unmounted stamps were not as popular and mainstream as they are today. This was shortly before the scrapbooking world really embraced rubber stamping. Once they did, there was no looking back. I kept expanding the line and started to offer stamps geared more towards scrapping as well. The kit companies started to take off during this time too. Does anyone remember Self-Addressed? They were probably the first real kit company devoted to cardmaking. I designed the monthly stamps that were included in the kits. Club Scrap was really the only kit company offering rubber stamps at the time. The first month I supplied Self-Addressed with 300 stamps, at the height of their business (which was within months) we were doing 2,500 stamps per month. Crazy. Needless to say that market got over saturated. New stamp companies started popping up along with all the scrapbook companies adding stamps to their lines. There were some great companies during that time and some amazing talent. Sadly, many of them are no longer around. My philosophy was to try and keep things relatively small regardless of how busy I was. I didn't want to expand too quickly and not be able to have longevity. I never expected the growth that I experienced during those times. I just excepted it for the moment. I am glad I did because it enabled me to stay in the game and it is now 10 years later! Thanks to everyone that has supported me along the way.
Maybe I should stop reminiscing and get on with the sale info! Lol. It is my "thank you" for your support.
The sale prices will be reflected in the shopping cart after you enter the sale code: Happy10. There are also 3 pages of "sale" stamps. These stamps will also be further discounted 25%. There are some great deals with the 2 discounts.
I also have some projects to share with you using many of the new stamps! I haven't had too much to share so far because the design team did not receive the stamps prior to this last release. I didn't want to hold up releasing them since they were long overdue.
I really like how the design team is incorporating the new stamp sets into their Project Life pages. It is a nice mix of creating their own Project Life cards or adding stamped images onto pre-designed cards from the various kits on the market. Creating the cards ahead of time and filing them with the kit cards is a great idea. I showed you a sneak of some cards Jenn B had designed a few weeks ago. Here are several more that will ready to go.
